Few worlds are as imaginative as Willy Wonka’s. From chocolate rivers to Oompa-Loompas, every detail of Wonka was crafted to delight audiences of all ages. But beyond the sweets and spectacle, wigs and hairstyling played a crucial role in shaping the film’s characters and transporting viewers into a fantastical universe.
I first discovered we were supplying for Wonka when we were shipping lots of colourful wigs at a particularly unusual time of year for those shades. Lots of colourful wigs from our Kandi and Vivid collections along with natural shades which just didn't seem to go together.
We discussed the production and it made sense as I learned how the film was showing the story before the Wonka factory. The natural wigs being used for general public scenes and there being a wonderful colourful sweet shop scene where hair colours change as a result of a Wonka invention.
We loved the film! We found it very entertaining and we loved all the fabulous hair creations, the colourful wigs looked amazing and even though we wished the scene had been given more screen time to show all the wigs, admire and take them in fully, we left feeling uplifted!
