I'm a great lover of fantasy and I always notice hair used in fantasy films and imagery such as the Disco Heaven angels on Hed Kandi covers. I remember watching Lord of The Rings when it first came out and I instantly fell in love with the elves! The way they were lit, the glow of their skin and the platinum hair shades stayed with me. The Ethereal collection was in me from that day, even before I started to make wigs.
As we began to invest in more affordable hard front structures, I knew cosplay artists would head our way and it felt like the right time for me to self indulge. This is when I designed the Ethereal collection alongside its polar opposite collection 'Twilight'. Of course these collections were all about fantasy - so I had to create the light and dark - and the two were released together.
I knew exactly the tones I wanted, Platinum with an over tone to create just a hint of colour. The colour range was already made in my mind, the most important thing to me was working on a blend which gave luminosity to replicate that cinematic glow in person! It took some time to source the most wonderful fibre which mostly absorbed light in the way I desired. After a few tweaks I had mastered the collection and I was overwhelmed when I brushed through the blend and admired the depth, creating an almost iridescent luxury feel when they were styled.

The Ethereal collections' unique fibre also created a few new Couture shades such as Arctic, Pearl, Truffle and Talos which when put together look spectacular as an extended collection.
