The Vivienne - In memory of our ambassador

The Vivienne - In memory of our ambassador

Like most of the community, we were so shocked, saddened and heartbroken to hear the news of James, publicly known as The Vivienne, passing.

Viv was a huge support in my personal mission to design, create and launch beautiful theatrical quality wigs. Viv was working with me on promoting Give Face Cosmetics and I shared that I was starting my journey to design theatrical wigs. She confided that she had been cast for Drag Race UK season one and wanted to work with the wigs as soon as they arrived. She was the first artist to wear one on screen, choosing Platinum Blonde Couture (which she inspired) for the crowning on Drag Race UK.

Viv declared herself the ambassador of the brand when she inspected the first batch and kindly gifted us an original photo for all the marketing. Returning to us to buy ‘the best’ hair for every big event and project that she wanted to look extra special for, ever since winning the show up until just a couple of weeks ago. She’d send the wigs to her favourite stylists that she’d always worked with.

Viv made a point of celebrating every little win we had, overjoyed that we were chosen to supply hair for Wicked the movie. She attended the premiere wearing the shade Kingfisher, which was created especially for her when the very first colourful collections were designed.

We share this so you can appreciate how Viv was extra special. A superstar, who was so kind, generous and opened opportunities for others. She shone bright, but stayed humble and grounded, she always made time to take care of her roots and nurture her connections. She made sure we all shined with her, sharing her platform with her people.

The Vivienne will remain our ambassador forever and we will keep the memory alive throughout the HYH journey. I am so grateful this wonderful person was a part of my journey and I will always appreciate their belief in me and their support for my project.

We send love to all of Vivs family, friends, fans and all of you feeling this loss. It’s a huge one! ❤️
