We are so grateful to be chosen by Julien, the wonderful artist behind Pariz Hair based in Paris, France.
Julien has always been fascinated with fashion, hair and transformation, as a drag artist ‘Pariz’, found a passion for wigs. Julien had worked in hair dressing for ten years and completed 4 years of advanced hair education, complimenting his existing skills rapidly by picking up hints and tips while participating in styling events and photoshoots. Making a move to styling wigs, his work quickly attracted attention on Instagram.
Attracting big names, Julien styled wigs for celebrities such as Cardi B, Megan The Stallion, UK girl band Little Mix and many more. Julien explains he also collaborates frequently with Alexis Stone on their transformation projects. Naturally Pariz hair has become extremely desirable for fashion queens, especially those hitting the Drag Race runways internationally. Pariz has styled so many across the globe including Nicky Doll, the hostess of the France franchise.
When we think about Pariz hair, the eye watering sculptures and rhinestones instantly spring to mind. Those creations have inspired so many other stylists to explore sculpturing wigs and embellishments. However, Julien explained to me that he’s taking a step back from the sculptured styles for now, we reflected on how fashion changes and how he and the industry continuously need to evolve. I have noticed myself how the market has become saturated with sculptured wigs and we agree it’s good to see originality and revisiting classic, beautiful hair, especially on the drag platforms. Julien explained that if an artist has an original concept where an original sculpture will enhance the look, he gets excited and inspired to create something very special for that and will revisit those techniques.
Talking about hair, Julien work on both human hair and synthetic. He explains that for synthetic work he chooses our bases because the hybrid fibre works so well under professional lighting and also when sculptured, it has a more realistic sheen and is not shiny like typical synthetic wigs. He enjoys how full they are, because cutting and styling options are unlimited. The HD lace is always complimented by his clients too on how well they film and photograph, so they are a natural choice when creating for celebrity clients.
During discussions over the past couple of years, Julien has inspired our wig structures too, our new lace tops were created to allow stylists looking for more natural density to create smaller detailed designs, especially where a visible parting is needed. In the future we have even more plans which have been put forward by this fabulous artist. So watch this space as we plan to collaborate more in the future!
Julien is now signed to French agent ‘Agence Mere’ and is in high demand to create for brand campaigns, events, celebrities and movie work. The good news - they do still accept personal commissions through their Instagram @parizhair
