The Vivid Collection - A Bold Move in Synthetic Colour

The Vivid Collection - A Bold Move in Synthetic Colour

I felt the need to add a complete contrast of the boldest colours possible and really push the limits with the most vibrant shades in synthetic wigs. A good range of bold shades were difficult to find on the wig market, the occasional red, blue or yellow popped up but often they were very shiny and during styling or wearing, I noted how static and messy they became!

I worked with a human hair colourist to understand how to achieve vibrancy, however I did notice how the colour was one dimension even in human hair. I also explored bird plumage. I remember as a photographer working with a peacock and how their feathers translated so well in photographs. As I looked at more birds plumage, I began to see how feathers manipulated light and became almost iridescent to the naked eye. They were not only reflecting but also absorbing it to give rich colour depth. This led me to a really unique way of dying the fibres and the Vivid Collection began to take shape.

As feathers played such a huge part in the development, I used plumage to inspire the range and the names of the shades come from the birds that inspired them.  A collection of 8 was released, due to popularity and demand, the additional shades Tanager and Hummingbird were released a few years later. The Vivid collection also developed the Lumin collection which was released a few years later.

Dark hair users love the Vivid collection and if you are looking for an intense pop of colour in your hair wardrobe - this is the collection for you! They are vibrant and rich, captivating and easily spotted on TV for their unique sheen. I have lost count of the amount of times people have mentioned seeing a vivid on television or film, easily identifiable with their unique iridescence.
